It is the culmination of fifteen years of curation, the closing chapter of Al Hashimi’s public era, and the opening verse of a new olfactory dynasty under our forthcoming VVIP Al Hashimi line. This is not a fragrance—it is a statement of intent, a perfumed monument to a legacy that no other house can claim.

What sets this attar apart is not just the calibre of its materials, but the weight of its history. Al Hashimi holds a living link to the Abbasid Caliphs—the very patrons who first commissioned the legendary Ghallias over a thousand years ago. With that inheritance comes an obligation: to create something worthy of the name and its origin.

And so, in crafting Ghallia Abbasi, we made a decision that no other perfumer would dare: we exhausted our entire supply of musk raw materials. Every last gram—spent without hesitation to produce something that could never be replicated.

At the heart of this composition lies the complete reserve of our 2012 Siberian musk grains, long regarded as the most extraordinary harvest of the modern era. These are joined by our benchmark Kashmiri musk, our full stock of wild Mongolian grains, and a rare vintage Tonkin musk extract from the 1960s, aged in France and preserved in flawless condition.

In a move that defines the exclusivity of this release, we also incorporated a special aged batch of Kashmiri deer musk infused in Malaysian oud, the hidden signature behind our revered Santal Misk. This precious accord forms a major part of Ghallia Abbasi’s soul. Alongside it sits a bespoke blend of Kashmiri and Himalayan musk in Mysore sandalwood, meticulously macerated for us in Dubai and originally set aside for future VVIP compositions—now offered here in full.

The foundation had to be equally majestic. We employed 1990s vintage Mysore sandalwood oil, making up 10% of the total volume. Oud oils comprise approximately 30%, including the finest from our vaults: Kambodi Katheef III from Koh Kong and Al Hind from Assam—both revered, the latter last seen in Special Reserve No.1.

But it is the musk accords that dominate: nearly 55% of Ghallia Abbasi is composed of the vintage Kashmiri deer musk in aged Malaysian oud, and the Himalayan/Kashmiri musk in Mysore—a complex, resinous, and transcendent structure of immense depth and power.

The final 15% is a carefully measured dose of raw, ground musk pods, Ethiopian civet paste, and ambergris—not tinctured, but in their unadulterated, most potent form.

Where other vendors mask mediocrity with showy packaging, we believe luxury must run through the entire fabric of a creation. Like the unseen internals of a fine mechanical watch, every facet of Ghallia Abbasi—from sourcing to composition—has been shaped with absolute integrity.
