We hesitated to release this as part of the current sale—because Sultan Kudarat offers a rare glimpse into the future of Al Hashimi: a future defined by uncompromising luxury, bold artisanal vision, and the kind of oud that redefines what collectors thought was possible.

This is, without question, the most audacious Filipino oud distillation that has been  released by any Oud Artisan in over sixteen years. Sourced from ultra-rare, fast-sinking grade dust—painstakingly gathered in Dubai during the legendary Filipino agarwood “gold rush”—this oil is born from material so resin-saturated that black oleoresin had oozed from the wood’s fibres and frozen in suspended animation on the surface. In 2018, Al Hashimi became known for offering these extraordinary pieces, with Kyara Zen hand-selecting our wood for his premium incense line and honouring us by featuring the Al Hashimi name on his packaging.

These pieces sank with astonishing speed—straight to the bottom, cutting through water like a stone falling through air. There was nothing casual or gentle about their descent; these were the titans of Filipino agarwood.

The oil itself is full of paradoxes: floral yet unrelenting, airy yet commanding, delicate in profile yet impossible to ignore. It’s less a conventional oud than a vaporous, ethereal perfume—something refined and transcendent, more spirit than substance.

To speak of price feels almost crude in the presence of something so rare—an extinct expression of a distillation era that will never return. The escalating cost of agarwood today makes reproducing this oil financially unthinkable. For this reason, we will likely reserve what little remains for years to come. Once gone, Sultan Kudarat will not return. This fleeting release—offered now at a madly generous price—is the only window into an experience that would otherwise be lost to time.
