Nha Trang

Nha Trang is a vintage Vietnamese oud oil from a lost age. Distilled in 2001 by a master distiller who has been producing masterpieces since the late 1990s, it captures the essence of Vietnam’s oud heritage before the jungles were stripped bare and the rush for agarwood forever changed the landscape.

The opening is unmistakably Nha Trang: a bold, bitter medicinal note that surges with authority and continues for an extended time, a true signature of the region’s finest oud oils. As it evolves, the profile gradually softens, morphing into a sweeter, more elegant character during the dry down revealing layers of refinement and depth.

This oil was created when wild agarwood from Nha Trang could still be sourced. Today, to even attempt its production would be either mission impossible or financial suicide; the cost of the raw wood alone would make a 2.5g bottle exceed $20,000.

That is what makes this find miraculous. Not only did we discover such an oil, but we also convinced its distiller, who was understandably reluctant to part with it, to release it to us.

Nha Trang is more than an oud oil: it is an olfactory time capsule, a rare surviving piece of Vietnam’s oud tradition, and one of the most unattainable treasures a collector could ever encounter.
